High grades always work with the lower grades and beginners to help them progress.
Gradings are held twice a year with two main gradings always at the end of May & November. We also hold smaller club gradings at the end of our beginners courses.
We follow the Tomiki/Shodokan teaching system of Aikido.
We host and attend several courses throughout the year and often have high ranking teachers visit us.
Classes are running normally on Tuesday evenings and Sunday mornings at our venues in SE16 and SE1.
We are reopening our Thursday evening class on 9th June 2022.

The dojo is open on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Silverlock Tenants Hall from 7pm to 9pm for adult Aikido classes.
The hall has strict Covid 19 requirements, a one way system, hand sanitiser must be used on arrival, wearing of face masks is compulsory while in shared public areas, corridors and toilets.
We also have a class on Sunday mornings at the Tokei Martial Arts centre is open from 9am to 11am.
We currently have two Aikido classes each week:

Aikido Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the Silverlock Tenants Hall in SE16 2SB, and every Sunday morning at the Tokei Martial Arts Centre in SE1 1EN.
We are a recognised Aikido Development Society club and hold membership of the British Aikido Board and the Japanese Aikido Association.
The practice of Aikido can benefit everyone, regardless of age or gender. Anyone who attends the regular well run classes with BAB qualified instructors, can enjoy and improve their health and fitness, posture, co-ordination and confidence, as well as learning new practical skills, and body movement.
Aikido is essentially non-violent, encourages harmony and avoidance of confrontation.
The classes are well attended with Aikido students always on the mat and the classes are aimed at all levels from beginner to advanced students and everyone is welcome to come along regardless of level, fitness or experience.
All Aikido students work at their own pace during the training sessions and no one is forced into doing anything they are not comfortable with.
We have Aikido students that visit the club on a regular basis from other clubs and associations throughout the UK as well as overseas visitors. Although we follow the Tomiki Aikido syllabus, we have a vast knowledge of different styles of Aikido and many of our Dan grades have practised and graded in other styles of Aikido including Traditional Aikido & Aikikai.
